County, cities close in on service agreement

POSTED: April 28, 2011 7:33 p.m.

Effingham County commissioners unanimously adopted a service delivery strategy at a special called meeting Wednesday morning, perhaps putting an end to a drawn-out and at times contentious process.

Commissioners approved amended stipulations and also approved having Chairman Dusty Zeigler sign into authorization a joint resolution.

“It’s been a long time coming,” Zeigler said. “It’s been a lot of work. There’s been a lot of frustration, and there’s been a lot of critical points to cover. It’s relieving that it’s over and exciting we can all get along and move forward and get something done.”
