Ashia Kendra Dimiya Miller, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Miller, graduated with a liberal arts degree in music from Florida State University during a commencement ceremony on April 28.

At Florida State, Ashia earned five consecutive honors of the Dean’s List, and completed her degree with a 3.06 GPA. She is also a 2008 graduate of South Effingham High School, where during her senior year she co-served as drum major.

Miller extended thanks to SONATA (former president Lillian Ellis) for scholarship awards which were granted to her during her high school years, along with Dr. Stephanie Furry, Eric Overholt, Pamela Titus, her French horn tutors, and SEHS band director Shawn McBride.
