WASHINGTON, D.C. — U.S. Sen. Johnny Isakson, R-Ga., has received the ACU Conservative Award for 2012 from the American Conservative Union as part of the organization’s annual ratings of Congress.

“I’m honored to receive this award from the American Conservative Union because my top priority is to reflect the values and interests of Georgia’s families and small businesses,” Isakson said.

Al Cardenas, chairman of the American Conservative Union, praised Isakson for showing “a consistent commitment to conservative principles over an extended period of time.”

The American Conservative Union was founded in 1964 to promote the principles of liberty and the strength of the Constitution. The organization tracks a wide range of issues before Congress, including votes on taxes, wasteful government spending, cultural issues, defense and foreign policy.
