As part of Effingham County High School’s Safe Prom Week, Principal Yancy Ford took junior class officers to local florists and tuxedo rental shops to deliver safe prom messages.

The safe prom messages were printed on colored cards cut to fit in tuxedo pockets or corsage boxes. The students also made flyers to hang in the windows of the shops.

Other activities for Safe Prom Week included students signing a safe prom banner, flyers being placed on cars, and a guest speaker from the Team Victim Impact Program giving a presentation to the juniors and seniors about making responsible decisions behind the wheel of a car. Also, the school was decorated with safe prom messages.

“Prom Promise at ECHS is about educating our students on the right way to enjoy a safe prom,” Ford said. “I have enjoyed watching our student leaders implement safe prom initiatives.”
