Hitchens named to House aviation study committee

ATLANTA — State Rep. Bill Hitchens (R-Rincon) has been selected by House Speaker David Ralston (R-Blue Ridge) to the House Study Committee on Aviation and Jobs.

Also chosen were Reps. Jimmy Pruett (R-Eastman), who will be the chairman, Mike Cheokas (R-Americus), Demetrius Douglas (D-Stockbridge) and Geoff Duncan (R-Cumming).

The House Study Committee on Aviation and Jobs was created by HR 1828. According to its enacting legislation, the study committee will take a look at the conditions, needs, issues and problems related to aviation and aviation-related industries.

The committee may conduct meetings at places and at times. The study committee will make a report on findings and recommendations on or before Dec. 1, and it will be abolished Dec. 1.
