Barrow, USDA official to tour district farms

WASHINGTON, D.C. — U.S. Rep. John Barrow (D-Augusta) and Deputy Secretary of the U.S. Department of Agriculture Krysta Harden will tour farming communities across the 12th District in Toombs, Laurens and Burke counties Friday.

Deputy Secretary Harden is touring the district at Barrow’s request.

First, Barrow and Harden will participate in a listening session with the Vidalia onion growers in Vidalia.

Following the listening session, the two will travel to Dublin for a roundtable with the agriculture community and the Georgia Farm Bureau.

Finally, Barrow and the deputy secretary will travel to Waynesboro to visit a local farm and participate in a meeting with members of the farming community in Burke County.
