ATLANTA — U.S. Sen. Johnny Isakson, R-Ga., announced that he will hold a public town hall meeting in Hinesville on Sept. 5. The town hall is one in a series of meetings that will focus on Georgia’s veterans, but the meeting will be open to the general public.

Isakson will give a brief update from Washington, D.C., and will spend the remainder of the meeting taking questions from constituents. Isakson hopes veterans will share any concerns about access to health care, benefits and any other general concerns or comments.

Earlier that day, Sen. Isakson will tour the Hinesville VA Outpatient Clinic and meet with VA personnel at the facility. He also will meet with leadership at Fort Stewart following the town hall.

The town hall will be held at Hinesville City Hall, 115 M.L. King Jr. Drive, from 10:45-11:30 a.m.

Sen. Isakson is a member of the Senate Veterans’ Affairs Committee and was a Senate negotiator on the conference committee that produced a bipartisan, bicameral agreement on the Veterans’ Access to Care through Choice, Accountability, and Transparency Act of 2014.
