Local Boy Scouts of America Venturing Crew 369, who is chartered by St. John’s Lutheran Church of Rincon, had plenty of things to celebrate recently at their Awards Night.

The Crew and their families came together to celebrate the fourth birthday of the group as well as the accomplishments of their members.

Julie Boyson, Corbin Blanchette and Angelina Blanchette earned their Venturing Award. Nicole De Paz went on and earned her Discovery Award while Megan Dehyle and Harrison Hall moved onward to earn their Pathfinder Award.

To earn these awards, there is a multitude of training that is required from Personal Safety Courses, Goal-Setting and Time Management, First Aid/CPR, Leadership Skills, Development of Self/Faith/Others and providing hours of community service, to name a few.

They work on this, all-the-while planning and participating in high adventure trips that include caving, high ropes course, climbing, outdoor cooking skills and hiking.

Megan Deyhle, current Crew President, was awarded the Coastal Georgia Councils Venturing Leadership Award earlier this year and was recognized by former President, Harrison Hall, at their awards night dinner - Hall was a previous recipient of this award.

Additional celebration was given to Harrison Hall for his completion of the Council’s Wood Badge Training, which is Scouting’s premier adult training course. He was the youngest in the Council (17 at the time) to ever complete the course.

Congratulations to Venturing Crew 369 of the Twin Rivers District for all of their accomplishments while “Leading the Adventure!”

If you have a youth aged 14-20 that is interested in joining Venturing Crew 369, please contact their advisor, Malissa Hall, or Committee Chair, Donna De Paz at VentureCrew369@gmail.com or come out on Thursday, Aug. 10 at 7 p.m. for their annual Open House.
