Despite getting just two hits, the South Effingham Mustangs turned back the Brunswick Pirates in a non-region baseball game in Guyton Tuesday night.

Dylan Wallace socked an RBI sacrifice fly to get the Mustangs off to a 1-0 lead in the first inning. Then they used three hit batsmen and two walks to get two more runs in the second frame.

A base on balls and an error fueled South Effingham's two-run rally in the sixth inning.

Doug Williams collected the Mustangs' hits.

Jakob Valleroy was the winning pitcher, working four innings and striking out three. He allowed five hits and walked none.

Jayce Warren and Wallace also pitched. Wallace earned a save by getting the last six outs.

The Pirates finished with five hits.
