Worker killed at G-P

An employee at Georgia-Pacific’s Savannah River Mill was killed in an accident early Friday morning.

 

According to witnesses, Ramon Cuya, 39, of Guyton, was working in the paper machine operation when he somehow got caught in the machinery.  

 

The incident is under investigation, and Georgia-Pacific is cooperating with the agencies involved, according to mill officials.

 

Cuya's body was sent to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation's crime lab in Savannah for an autopsy. No other workers were hurt in the accident.
