Rincon Police arrested two men Thursday after they broke into a house on West 7th Street.

Joshua Buckner, 21, and Dominique Ellison, 19, were arrested and have been charged with burglary, said Rincon Police Chief Mike Bohannon. Ellison was arrested at the scene. Buckner, who fled on foot, was taken into custody several hours later.

Buckner and Ellison are alleged to have taken cash, cameras, cell phones and prescription drugs. The items stolen have been recovered, Bohannon said.

Bohannon also thanked deputies with the Effingham County Sheriff’s Office and troopers with the Georgia State Patrol for their help.

In the search, police officers found a man who matched Buckner’s description and was wanted for violation of the Sex Offender Act. Jamelle Aikens was arrested and taken to the Effingham County Jail.

Rincon police also arrested three juveniles Friday, charging them for damaging property and thefts in the Carlisle Village subdivision.
The three juveniles damaged two homes under construction, a pool house and a storage building, according to Bohannon. The property stolen has been recovered and will be returned to the owner.

Two of the juveniles were taken to the Claxton Youth Detention Center and the third was released to his parents.
