FDA creates database of products involved in Plainview Milk recall

POSTED: July 9, 2009 6:38 p.m.

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has created a searchable database of products connected to the Plainview Milk Products Cooperative recall.
It is now available on the FDA website at http://www.accessdata.fda.gov/scripts/Milk/.

The list of products in the database includes those recalled in the United States since June 2009 related to products manufactured by Plainview Milk Products Cooperative. The FDA says the list will be updated as new information is received. The information is current as of the date indicated. Once included, all recalls will remain listed. The database may also include photos that have been voluntarily submitted to the FDA by the recalling firms to assist the public in identifying recalled products.

Plainview Milk Products Cooperative, Plainview, Minn., is recalling a variety of products that it has manufactured over the past two years, because they might be contaminated with Salmonella. The company sells these products to other industry customers, including distributors and manufacturers, who may have incorporated them into their own products. None of Plainview’s products were sold directly to the public.

“Georgia Department of Agriculture sanitarians will be checking grocery stores and food warehouses in the state to make sure recalled products are removed from sale,” said Commissioner of Agriculture Tommy Irvin.
