Jennifer Cobb, speech/language pathologist at Effingham Hospital, told the Effingham Sunrise Rotary Club about new treatments available at Effingham Hospital for dysphagia or difficulty swallowing. The medical disorder impacts mostly older patients with a cognitive impairment. The hospital offers services to help achieve optimal communication with speech impairments. Girl Scouts shine for GLOW
Daisy Girl Scout Troop 30387 of Effingham County recently donated food to GLOW Ministries as part of their community outreach. The girls learned that GLOW stands for God Loves Orphans and Widows and is a non-profit organization that provides food to local families in need of some extra help.

A living history lesson for CAP

Effingham County residents are invited to participate in the annual Memorial Day program at Veterans Park in Springfield. The program will be held Monday at 6 p.m. and will honor all veterans. Specific honor will be paid to the 62 men from Effingham killed in action.
