Kessler crowned Ms. Effingham Care Center

On March 29 more than 160 family members, residents, visitors and staff attended the Ms. ECC pageant anticipating who will be crowned the queen. After the votes were tallied, Willene Kessler was crowned Ms. Effingham Care Center 2008. A reception following the pageant was held in honor of the nine ladies who participated in the pageant.

Barrow to host rebate, tax filing workshop

On Monday, U.S. Rep John Barrow (D-Savannah) will host a workshop to help folks in the area fill out the forms they need to submit in order to receive their tax rebate checks, and to provide some last minute tax advice. Boy Scouts visit state Capitol

Boy Scouts from Troop 295 visited the state Capitol recently. As part of the requirements for the "Citizenship in the Nation" merit badge, 12 scouts traveled to Atlanta to tour the Capitol. Cheer South All-Stars competition season comes to a bittersweet end in Savannah

Girl Scouts shine for GLOW

Daisy Girl Scout Troop 30387 of Effingham County recently donated food to GLOW Ministries as part of their community outreach. The girls learned that GLOW stands for God Loves Orphans and Widows and is a non-profit organization that provides food to local families in need of some extra help.
