New Ebenezer Retreat Center celebrates 30 years

New Ebenezer celebrated "30 years of miracles" on Saturday. The program included singing of hymns, scripture reading and Richard Kessler explaining how the center came about. There was also a pictorial history of the center presented.

Georgia Power employees put force behind donations

Recently, employees of Georgia Power from Plants McIntosh Steam/CT and McIntosh Combined Cycle donated more than 260 pounds of food to Effingham food pantries. Because of their concern for others, the Georgia Power employees suggested the project in hopes of helping as many families as possible with food during the holidays.

Girl Scouts shine for GLOW

Daisy Girl Scout Troop 30387 of Effingham County recently donated food to GLOW Ministries as part of their community outreach. The girls learned that GLOW stands for God Loves Orphans and Widows and is a non-profit organization that provides food to local families in need of some extra help.
