Pizzino receives Webb scholarship
It's quite a balancing act for Mary Pizzino. She and her husband have two children, Miranda and Steven. Her husband Steven is home - for now. In about a week, he rejoins his unit, the 3/7 Cavalry Squadron, on duty in Iraq. Girl Scouts shine for GLOW
Daisy Girl Scout Troop 30387 of Effingham County recently donated food to GLOW Ministries as part of their community outreach. The girls learned that GLOW stands for God Loves Orphans and Widows and is a non-profit organization that provides food to local families in need of some extra help.
Council of Catholic Women Packs Purses for VWAP
The Savannah Diocesan Council of Catholic Women (SDCCW) recently held its annual convention in Savannah. In keeping with the National Council of Catholic Women's Campaign for Human Dignity, the Savannah Deanery CCW chose the Effingham County Victim Witness Assistance Program as the local charity to help.

The Effingham Chamber of Commerce is offering a new coffee mug that shows off some of Effingham County's tourism efforts. A living history lesson for CAP
