Ferst prize

Elaine Spencer, co-chairman of Effingham County's Ferst Foundation for Childhood Literacy, accepts $3,000 donation from the Sunrise Rotary Club. This program provides free age appropriate book to all children between the ages of birth to 5 years. The mission of the program is insuring that all children in Effingham County enter Kindergarten ready to learn. Last month the program distributed 1,347 books to Effingham children.
