Pizzino receives Webb scholarship
It's quite a balancing act for Mary Pizzino. She and her husband have two children, Miranda and Steven. Her husband Steven is home - for now. In about a week, he rejoins his unit, the 3/7 Cavalry Squadron, on duty in Iraq. New Chamber mugs show off tourist spots
The Effingham Chamber of Commerce is offering a new coffee mug that shows off some of Effingham County's tourism efforts. Pictured on the mugs in full color are photos of Civil War soldiers in a skirmish at Olde Effingham Days, the moss-draped steeple of the Jerusalem Lutheran Church at New Ebenezer, the ceremonial keg tapping at the Effingham Oktoberfest, and the historic restored county courthouse.

A living history lesson for CAP
