Chamber members gathered together last Thursday to bake loaves of raisin bread that would be taken to state officials Monday during Effingham Day at the Capitol.

A prayer shawl of many colors

The residents at Effingham Care Facility are pictured with one of their two completed prayer shawls. The residents meet every Tuesday to crochet. The completed shawls are given to the Rincon United Methodist Church Prayer Shawl Ministry and then given to individuals in need. A special thanks goes to out to Bobby Exley, Beth Holland and Judy Plummer for all of their hard work to make this a success.

Two Rincon troopers were a part of inauguration detail

Dunham to deliver keynote speech at MLK Jr. breakfast

Effingham Chorale forming soon

Residents of Effingham, Chatham and Screven counties are encouraged to head to the first rehearsal Feb. 3 from 7-9 p.m. in the Springfield United Methodist Church sanctuary. Auditions are not required, but people who can read music or who are willing to learn are sought. All people high school age or above are welcome.

CAP’s Bush receives Billy Mitchell Award

Civil Air Patrol (CAP) Effingham Cadet Squadron's Cadet Chief Master Sgt. Cody Bush was recognized Oct. 4 for receiving the General Billy Mitchell Award. This event brought with it a promotion to cadet second lieutenant and opportunities for further leadership challenges and greater responsibility.
