The Effingham YMCA is hosting a dedication ceremony and reception for the named Ann Purcell Connector on June 30th at 10 a.m. in recognition of the efforts of state Department of Transportation 1st Congressional District board member Ann Purcell. The ceremony will be hosted at the Effingham YMCA at 1224 Patriot Drive in Rincon. The event will feature an official dedication and welcome address from YMCA of Coastal Georgia's District Vice President Krystal McGee followed by a reception.
Everyone in attendance at Effingham Community Orchestra's recent Retro Sock Hop fundraiser at the Effingham County Recreation and Parks Gymnasium in Springfield enjoyed an evening of fun food and entertainment.
The Rotary Club of Effingham County teed it up at Lost Plantation Golf Course for its annual fundraising tournament. Money raised from the events supports such Rotary endeavors as its speech contest, Special Olympics, STAR student recognition and its annual scholarships.
After five months of training, Leadership Southeast Georgia announces the 2016 graduating class.
