Officials of the Georgia Department of Transportation have awarded a $27,800 grant to the city of Rincon for roadside enhancement and beautification improvements along the city's portion of Highway 21.
As Effingham County citizens marked Memorial Day on Monday and paid their respects to those who had died in service to the nation, they also kept in their thoughts dozens of local soldiers thousands of miles away from home.
Effingham Sunrise Rotary President Bonnie Dixon recognizes Rev. Bob Rogers for his leadership and work on the NOAH Project mission trip in April. Rogers and his team helped rebuild a home in New Orleans that was damaged during Hurricane Katrina.
