Miller enters Air Force Academy

Travis C. Miller has entered basic cadet training at the U.S. Air Force Academy, Colorado Springs, Colo., in preparation to enter the first academic year at the academy. The six-week, two-phased orientation program must be successfully completed by the cadets prior to entering their freshman year. The training prepares men and women to meet the rigorous mental and physical challenges experienced by new cadets.

Rotary hears Uga’s tale

Effingham County Rotarians enjoyed a visit from Swann Seiler, about the care scheduling and responsibilities of Uga, the University of Georgia's mascot. Besides the four generations of Seiler's family who have raised, trained and loved the entire Uga lineage, Uga receives special treatment by the UGA administration and veterinarian school, as well as his fans.
