DOT to suspend lane closures for the holiday

The Georgia Department of Transportation anticipates heavy traffic during this Christmas and New Year's holidays. So that motorists can better enjoy their travels through southeast Georgia, the Georgia DOT announced that construction-related lane closures on all interstates and major state routes will be suspended beginning Friday at 5 p.m. and continuing through midnight Jan. 1.

Guitarist Jeff Bianchi will give a one-hour classical guitar concert in the sanctuary at Guyton Christian Church on Sunday at 7:30 p.m. to help raise assistance for The Fillin' Station, Guyton's Community Food Pantry. Audience members are asked to bring canned and dry goods to help stock the food pantry. Peanut butter and canned meats are especially helpful.
