SSU granted degree programs
SAVANNAH - The University System of Georgia Board of Regents has approved three, new degree programs at Savannah State University - a Bachelor of Science in Forensic Science with a concentration in Chemistry or Biology; a Bachelor of Science in Biology with a concentration in Secondary Education; and a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics with a concentration in Secondary Education.

Darton College bestows honors on local students
ALBANY-Cindy L Price and Dana L Shores of Rincon made the Merit List at Darton College in Albany for the Fall 2010 semester. To qualify for the Merit List, a student must be part time and have earned a 3.4 or higher grade point average.

Georgia Southern University archaeologists will begin a major conservation project to identify and conserve 150-year-old metal artifacts found at Camp Lawton, a Confederate prisoner of war camp located at what is now Magnolia Springs State Park in Millen. The project is the next step in preparation for the opening of a planned history center at the park.

4-H Cloverleafs take part in Project Achievement
Cloverleaf (fifth- and sixth-graders) 4-H'ers selected a project area that interested them from more than 60 choices for county Project Acheivement. Students prepared a three-to-five-minute presentation using materials he/she learned, created three posters and used visuals to explain the topic for the presentation. Presentations were viewed by two judges and scored based on subject knowledge, visuals and speech delivery.
