SAVANNAH – Record numbers of students packed into classrooms, hallways and parking lots at Savannah Technical College for the first day of the fall quarter. Early numbers show that 5,140 students are enrolled, marking a 12 percent increase from last year at this time when enrollment was 4,585 and a 34 percent increase over the summer quarter.
Effingham County High School Work-based Learning student Cody Calhoun, son of Tony and Cindy Calhoun of Guyton, has earned a prestigious award by earning a Platinum Certificate on Georgia's Work Ready Initiative Assessment.
Two students at Effingham County High School recently won third place in the Jimmy Carter post card contest co-sponsored by the Peanut Institute, the National Peanut Board and the Jimmy Carter NHS Education Program.
Central Learning Center recently hosted Grandparents' Day. Approximately 160 grandparents were hosted on campus. The grandparents met and enjoyed refreshments before going to their grandchild(ren)'s classes to enjoy activities with them.
