RES wins grant from Georgia PTA

The obesity rate in the U.S. is very high. In an attempt to encourage students to make changes at home, Rincon Elementary will start a new program called Promoting Healthy Habits. The goal of this program is to promote activity and healthy eating along with understanding how important these lifestyle changes can be.

Cadet Col. Amie Perkins, commander of the Effingham County High School Air Force JROTC, was named the Savannah Chapter Air Force Association (AFA) Cadet of the Year, and was honored at a banquet Nov. 27 at the Mighty 8th Air Force Museum.

SEMS students collect goods for canned food drive

The South Effingham Middle School Y-Club held its annual canned food drive Nov. 12-16. Daily prizes were given to the homeroom that brought in the most of the "designated item of the day." Winning three of the five days was Mrs. Bonorato's sixth grade homeroom and Mr. Richard's seventh grade homeroom won the other two days.
