On Feb. 16, the Effingham County Hussars Chapter 2285 of the United Daughters of the Confederacy, Georgia Division, presented a Georgia Day program to 105 fifth graders and teachers at Springfield Elementary School.
Feb. 13 was National FBLA Community Service Day and eight members of South Effingham High School FBLA along with their adviser Martha Ross and Ricky Truluck, a parent volunteer, spent the day volunteering at the Ronald McDonald House.
The Junior Beta Club at Sand Hill Elementary School made more than 150 Valentine's Day cards for residents at Lakeview Manor Community and the Effingham County Hospital. Each member was asked to make at least four cards that demonstrated their creativity for the Junior Beta Club's February service learning project.
Effingham County High School FBLA attended the Region 3 Leadership Conference at Wayne County High School on Jan. 21. Twenty-two members attended and competed in different business areas. The areas included taking online tests, skills tests, and performance events.
