South Effingham Elementary jump starts art program
The cafeteria at South Effingham Elementary School was transformed into an art gallery Tuesday night as parents, students and staff came out to see and buy student artwork.
Students honored for Herdsman Award

High fashion hits SEHS
Forget Paris and New York, fashion has hit Effingham. Saturday, eight student designers and their models did their little turns on the catwalk at South Effingham High's 4th annual Fashion Show, themed "Dusk to Dawn." Either alone or in teams, these designers worked outside of school since September to create clothing in three categories: "Plant Life," "Different….But the Same" and "Go Green!" For "Plant Life," the students used the botanical world to inspire their designs. ...

ECHS YAC pitches in for FORCE
From Sept. 12-16 the ECHS Youth Advisory Council, along with the Interact Club and Family Connection Communities and Schools, sponsored an After Labor Day Food Drive benefitting the Food Outreach Co-op of Effingham (FORCE). They collected 1,500 nonperishable goods to help FORCE restock local food pantries.

ATLANTA-Coloring is perhaps one of the first activities a child embarks upon on his or her educational journey, creating a foundation for creativity and a lifetime of learning.
