SAVANNAH – Official enrollment numbers for the start of the winter quarter 2010, show an increase of 18.8 percent in total credit enrollment from the same quarter last year, marking the second consecutive quarter that enrollment has topped 5,000 and the largest ever enrollment for winter quarter.
The United Daughters of the Confederacy is the oldest patriotic organization in the county and the Springfield chapter will soon celebrate its chapter being 50 years old, having been organized in 1960. They held a quilt raffle and the proceeds will help fund the many projects of the local chapter.

ALBANY- Dana L Shores of Rincon made the Merit List at Darton College in Albany for the fall 2009 semester. To qualify for the Merit List, a student must be part time and have earned a 3.4 or higher grade point average.
The headquarters of the U.S. Air Force Junior ROTC announced recently that Effingham County High School Unit GA-938, has been awarded the Air Force Junior ROTC Distinguished Unit Award for school year 2014-15. This marks the fifth consecutive year the corps of cadets at ECHS has earned the DUA, and the ninth time in the last 11 years.
TIFTON-Students who achieved academic excellence in their course work during the spring term were recently recognized at Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College. ABAC cites its top academic students each semester on the president's list, the dean's list, and the distinguished achievement list.
