Georgia Southern President Brooks Keel delivered his annual State of the University address to faculty and staff on Wednesday morning at the Nessmith-Lane Conference Center during the annual fall convocation.
Former first lady Laura Bush will speak at Georgia Southern University's Hanner Fieldhouse on Sept. 17 at 7 p.m. The appearance by one of the most admired American first ladies is part of the university's Leadership Lecture Series which allows Georgia Southern students to learn from U.S. and world leaders.
Junior and Senior club members were recognized and received awards for their achievements at the 4-H awards banquet. The banquet themed "4-H ... How Sweet It Is" focused on the experiences of 4-H through trips, events, honors, awards and opportunities. Natalie Starling, Senior club president and graduating senior, served as the mistress of ceremonies for the evening. Entertainment was provided by Hillary Usher.
