Georgia Southern University recently recognized more than 2,800 students for excellence in academics on the fall 2015 dean's list. To be eligible for the dean's list, a student must have at least a 3.5 grade point average and carry a minimum of 12 hours for the semester.
Gabrielle Usher, a senior at Effingham County High School, paged at the State Capitol for Majority Leader Jon Burns on Feb. 19. Usher was able to meet the Speaker of the House, David Ralston during her duties serving as page.
Several Effingham County students served as a page on the Georgia House of Representatives floor. Students 12 years of age and older gain an opportunity to visit the state Capitol and assist their state representative for the day.
