The Exchange Club of Effingham County honored its ACE (Accepting the Challenge of Excellence) Award nominees and its nominees for the Youth of the Year. Tuned into the all-state band

Four middle school students from Effingham County were selected to participate in the Georgia Music Educators Association Middle School All State Band in Athens on March 3-5. Two students from Ebenezer Middle School (Nate Dickey, trumpet and Martin Carper, trumpet) and two students from Effingham County Middle School (Steven Boyles, alto saxophone and Zach Gatewood, trombone) participated in the three-day event. Over 11,000 students in grades 6-8 auditioned for the Georgia All-State Band with around 200 students being selected at the middle school level.
