Students and staff of Sand Hill Elementary recognized the service of military veterans at a Nov. 10 program. The program included music from the chorus, a color guard from the 165th Airlift Wing, a guest speaker, and recognition of those veterans who were able to attend. The guest speaker for the program was Col. Jesse Simmons. Simmons is the commander of the 165th Airlift Wing of the Georgia Air National Guard.
On Oct. 31, the Ebenezer Middle School competition cheerleaders competed in the Battle of the 'Boro, placing first in the middle school division of the cheerleading competition hosted by Statesboro High School.
