Effingham College and Career Academy's SkillsUSA chapter attended the SkillsUSA National Leadership and Skills Conference in Kansas City from June 23-27. This year's conference marked the 50th annual National Leadership and Skills Conference for SkillsUSA, a showcase of career and technical education students.
School nutrition managers from across the state recently gathered at Georgia Southern University to attend Culinary Institute II, a 32-hour, weeklong training session by the Georgia Department of Education's School Nutrition Program.
The Effingham County Health Department will be open July 22 and 29 from 8 a.m.-7 p.m. for parents to bring their children in for back-to-school immunizations. The health department is located at 802 Highway 119 South in Springfield.
