SOCIAL CIRCLE - The Nongame Conservation Section of the Georgia Department of Natural Resources is offering a $1,000 grant to a Georgia third-, fourth- or fifth-grade public or private school teacher who demonstrates exceptional energy and innovation in teaching life sciences. This opportunity is possible thanks to support from The Environmental Resource Network, or TERN, friends group of the Nongame Conservation Section.

Effingham County Cloverleaf 4-H'ers camped at Rock Eagle 4-H Center, the largest 4-H center in the world, located in Eatonton. This summer camp is designed for fifth- and sixth- grade students. Effingham 4-H camped 143 total participants, including cloverleaf campers, adults and teen leaders.

Georgia Southern University made history last Wednesday when the Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia granted the university with the first undergraduate manufacturing engineering degree program in the state and Southeast U.S.
STATESBORO - Georgia Southern University celebrated a newly-renovated Sanford Hall with a ribbon cutting recently. The $8.65 million Communication Arts building, formerly an apartment-style dormitory, will be home to more than 900 students majoring in communication studies, multimedia film and production, multimedia journalism, public relations and theatre.
