The Effingham County Board of Education is expected to vote on a proposed meal price increase at its next meeting on June 21.
SAVANNAH – This summer, Savannah Technical College will add two technical certificate programs in aviation, bringing the total to three industry-specific programs offered at the college's Savannah Campus. The new programs are Luxury Craft Cabinetmaking and Aircraft Exteriors. They will be offered in addition to Aircraft Structural Assembly. All are short-term certificate programs.
Twenty-three students and five chaperones traveled to Europe on May 22 as part of an educational tour. The group toured London, Paris, Florence, Pisa, Rome, Sorrento and Capri while in Europe.

Covenant Christian Academy (CCA) surpassed both local and national averages on the Iowa Test of Basic Skills (ITBS) scores for 2006-2007. CCA administered the ITBS to students in grades K-7th in April. Effingham County public schools administered the test to students in grades 3, 5, and 8 in October 2006.
