Walking the plank

After months of rehearsals students at Ebenezer Middle School performed "Captain Bree and her Lady Pirates" Thursday night. Director Lori Benassi-Parker chose the musical after reading several plays. She said this play was the one that stood out.

Students compete in state science & engineering fair

Students from SEHS and SEMS competed at the Georgia Science and Engineering Fair in Athens, March 28-31. SEHS students were Kirsten Edwards and Melanie Richtman (both received fourth place). SEMS students were Selina Jonas, Megan Spence, Joshua Anderson and Jessica Bitting. Selina and Megan received third place recognition and Joshua and Jessica got honorable mention.

The following area residents recently were named to the dean's or president's list at Mercer University for the fall 2006 semester. Inclusion on the dean's and president's lists requires students to meet rigorous grade point average standards specific to their school within the University.

SEHS FFA takes home multiple wins at competitions

The South Effingham High School FFA horse judging team competed at the State Horse Judging Career Development Event at Fort Valley State University on Feb. 9. There were 39 teams in their division (senior division).
