The Georgia Bureau of Investigation has determined that a man whose body was found in the Rincon Wal-Mart parking lot Saturday died of nautral causes.
The body has been identified as that of Mike Nichols, 49, of Rincon.
Rincon police officers were dispatched to the parking lot around 1 p.m. Saturday on the report of a white male in a pickup truck. Nichols was found lying face down in the seat by officers, and Effingham emergency medical technicians on the scene confirmed he was already dead.
The body was taken to the GBI crime lab in Savannah and the preliminary reports indicated the cause of death was natural.
“There were no signs of foul play or of an altercation,” Rincon Police Chief Mike Bohannon said.
