POSTED: March 29, 2017 11:51 a.m.

The Rincon City Council approved a motion to pay R.B. Baker Construction $257,043.09 Monday night at a regulary-scheduled meeting for their work on Highway 21 right-of-way improvements.

The council also approved a motion to pay R.B. Baker Construction a $39,853.07 (Kroger Funded) increase, moving their total payment to $2,196,758.88.

Both motions were passed with a unanimous vote.

The council also approved a motion to create two additional police officer positions within the Rincon Police Department.

Along with getting two new officers, the city of Rincon will also see two new Ford F-350 trucks driving around town after the council approved the purchase of the trucks with available SPLOST Fund Reserves.

The two Public Works trucks were ordered in 2016 but were not available to be delivered until 2017.

The next meeting of the Rincon City Council will take place on April 10 at 7 p.m.
