Auxiliary seeking help to stock VA hospital gift shop

POSTED: November 7, 2017 8:20 a.m.

Each year, the American Legion Auxiliary stocks the gift shop at the Veterans Hospital in Augusta so that patients there can choose gifts for their families during the Christmas season at no cost to them. Currently, the hospital has about 500 patients.
The auxiliary needs help securing items for the gift shop. Items need to be new and in their original packing.
Monetary gifts will also be accepted. Make checks payable to ALA Unit 209. In the memo section, write “for VA gift shop.”
All contributions need to be received by Thanksgiving. They will be delivered to the hospital on Nov. 26.
For more information, call Thelma M. Pierce, auxiliary president, at 912-663-4405.
