SPRINGFIELD — Numerous examples of good taste were on display in downtown Springfield on Friday.
Nearly 300 people sampled everything from barbecue sliders to bacon-wrapped scallops at Taste of Effingham, an annual event sponsored by the Effingham County Chamber of Commerce.
Seventeen area vendors served their culinary concoctions under a tent next to the Mars Theatre on Laurel Street.
“I think this is a great way to show off the restaurants in Effingham,” said Brad Carr, executive director of the Effingham County Chamber of Commerce. “We’re really thankful for the good community support for it.”
