A four-run third inning propelled the Ware County Gators to a 7-6 Region 2-AAAAAA baseball victory over South Effingham in Guyton on Monday.

The Mustangs ralled but came up a run short in a 7-6 decision.

In Ware County's big inning, Acy Paul and Gage Bray hit run-producing singles. The other two runs scored on a wild pitch.

Doug Williams and Chase Warren led the Mustangs at the plate, combining for half of their team's eight hits. Warren had three RBI.

Jakob Gross absorbed the pitching loss, giving up six runs and 10 hits over five innings. He fanned three and walked one.
