Just a couple of weeks after being named Region 2-AAAAAA's top coach, Brett Griffin has stepped down as head of the Effingham County baseball program.

Griffin held the job for 13 seasons. The Rebels finished atop the region heap in his final campaign, clinching their first title since 2004.

The Rebels went 24-11 in 2018, losing in the second round of the playoffs to Grovetown.
