The 18-and-under Angels Gold of Guyton finished their season as the USA Softball Diamond Classic World Series champions.  The team is comprised of fastpitch softball players from Effingham and surrounding counties.  The Angels Gold won the USA Softball Gold Qualifier in Atlanta, earning a berth in the USA Softball 18u Gold Nationals in Texas.  The Angels Gold finished with a 43-21 record, winning five tournaments, including the World Series and the Gold National Qualifier.  The World Series concluded the travel ball careers of three seniors from Effingham County High School (Hayley Dickerson, Taylor Morgan and Cevana Wood) and one senior from Richmond Hill High School (Maddie Gorsuch).  All four seniors will move on to play in college on softball scholarships.
