July 23

Stalking

A woman stated that she was being stalked by her ex-boyfriend and receiving threatening messages from him on social media. She noted that it had been an ongoing issue and that it had spread to other members of her family. She also said that she believed that he had been to her house and was planning to attack her son. The ex-boyfriend could not be contacted at the time. The reporting officer was Bryan Shearouse.

Criminal Trespass

A woman stated that someone shot her vehicle and put a dent in it as she was driving down the road. She was unsure as to who could have caused the damage to the car. The reporting officer was Matthew Davis.

DUI-Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol; Driving Without a Valid License (Misdemeanor); Head/Tail Light Requirements

A man was spotted driving down the road with no tag or headlight. A background check revealed that he had no license, and it was noted that he smelled strongly of alcoholic beverages. He was swiftly arrested after failing a field sobriety test, and his motorcycle was turned over to a friend. The reporting officer was Daniel Handshumaker.

July 24

Driving While License Suspended or Revoked (Misdemeanor); Break Light/Turn Signal Violation

A man was seen driving down the road with no rear lights on his vehicle. A background check revealed that his driver’s license was suspended, and he was swiftly arrested. His vehicle was towed by a local wrecker service. The reporting officer was Malcom Foy.

Burglary-First Degree (Felony)

A woman stated that her tenant was short on his rent and was breaking into her house when she was not there. She admitted that she took medical marijuana and said that it was what the tenant had stolen. She also admitted that she had no absolute proof to say that the tenant was the one who broke in. The tenant admitted to smoking marijuana and being behind on his rent but denied stealing the marijuana of the woman. Because there was nothing linking him to the theft, the tenant was not arrested. Domestic Dispute

A woman stated that she was pushed to the ground by her brother while she and her mother were having an argument. The brother said that he did so because he was afraid that the woman would harm her mother after the mother hit the woman with a coffee cup. The mother confirmed this series of events. The woman was treated at a local hospital due to pre-existing back problems, and all parties were advised to separate for the time being. The reporting officer was Matthew Davis.

Marijuana-Possess Less than One Ounce

A man was seen driving down the road with no tag light. It was noted that the vehicle smelled strongly of marijuana, and a passenger later admitted to having some in his possession. The passenger was ultimately placed under arrest, and the man was released from the scene. The reporting officer was Daniel Handshumaker.

July 25

Theft by Receiving Stolen Property-Felony; Driving While License Suspended or Revoked (Misdemeanor); Possession of Firearms by Convicted Felons and First Offender Probationers

A woman stated that her roommate had stolen her vehicle to drive to court even though the roommate did not have a valid license. The roommate was later located and placed under arrest for having an active warrant. The reporting officer was Justin Hynko.

July 26

Aggravated Cruelty to Animals

A man advised that his drunk co-worker killed his dog and placed it in a trash can by the road. The co-worker killed the dog by slamming it on a sidewalk after getting into a fight with the man over beer. The co-worker was later located and arrested. The reporting officer was Caleb Grovenstein.

July 27

Obstructing or Hindering Law Enforcement Officers; Discharge of Firearms on or Near Public Highway or Street; Discharging Firearm While Under Influence of Alcohol or Drugs; Reckless Conduct

A man was spotted shooting a gun in a trailer park which was causing fear among the residents. He denied shooting the gun, but it was noted that he appeared to be intoxicated and that he was surrounded by casings. After failing to corporate with police, he was placed under arrest. The reporting officer was Loren Richard Scholes.

Obstructing or Hindering Persons Making Emergency Contact; Cruelty to Children- Allow Child to Witness; Simple Battery-Family Violence; Pointing or Aiming Gun or Pistol at Another

A woman advised that during an altercation, her male friend pointed a rifle at her and head butted her. When she called police, he took her cell phone and threw it in a fish tank while his daughter watched. He then fled the scene and was later captured by police. The reporting officer was Caleb Grovenstein.

Marijuana-Possess Less than One Ounce; Possession of Open Alcohol Container

A man was spotted acting in an intoxicated manner outside of a local gas station. He admitted to drinking a beer in the driver’s seat of a vehicle but claimed that he had not driven it. It was noted that the vehicle had an open beer can and a marijuana joint inside of it. The man was placed under arrest after it was revealed that he also had marijuana on his person. The reporting officer was Matthew Davis.

DUI-Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol; Failure to Maintain Lane; Open Alcohol Container

A man was seen failing to maintain his proper lane as he drove down the road. It was noted that he had four open beer cans in his vehicle and that he smelled strongly of alcoholic beverages. He admitted to being under the influence and, after failing a field sobriety test, he was swiftly arrested. His vehicle was towed by a local wrecker service. The reporting officer was Malcom Foy.

July 28

Domestic Dispute

A woman stated that her daughter destroyed her living room during an argument over the company that the daughter was keeping. The woman singled out the daughter’s boyfriend as the main source of the problems which were causing the daughter’s behavior. The daughter confirmed this story and also said that her boyfriend was likely kidnapped by three unknown men due to his lifestyle. The boyfriend was later located, whereupon he confirmed that the two women were fighting and that he was beaten by the three men. He was arrested a short time later due to an active warrant. The reporting officer was Bryan Shearouse.

No Insurance; Removing or Affixing License Plate with Intent to Conceal or Hide Identity

A man was spotted driving down the road in a vehicle that had an obscured license plate. He later admitted to having no insurance and was issued two citations. His vehicle was towed by a local wrecker service. The reporting officer was Malcom Foy.

Driving While License Suspended or Revoked (Misdemeanor); Wanted Person-Warrant Service

A man with a suspended license and an active warrant was seen driving down the road. He was swiftly placed under arrest, and he contacted someone to pick up his vehicle. The reporting officer was Kristopher Withem.

Damage to Property; Wanted Person-Warrant Service

A man advised that the driver of a moving truck had damaged his lawn by turning in it. The driver admitted to turning in the yard and agreed to contact his supervisor. A man was spotted staggering down the road near the scene of a vehicle crash. It was noted that he had abrasions on his body and that he smelled strongly of alcoholic beverages. He denied being involved in the accident but was arrested for being a drunk pedestrian. The vehicle was revealed to belong to the man, and several open beer cans were found inside of it. His wife was later contacted, whereupon she said that the two had previously been in an argument which was likely why the man was intoxicated. The vehicle was towed by a local wrecker service. The reporting officer was James Daniel McKie.

July 29

Theft by Taking-Misdemeanor ($500 or Less)

A woman advised that an unknown person had stolen her boat while she was away. She valued the boat at around $300 and was unsure as to who had stolen it. The reporting officer was James Ashley Denney.

Criminal Trespass

A man stated that he returned to his home to find that the rear window of his residence had been broken. He suspected his ex-girlfriend of committing the act, as she had shown up at his house unwanted in the past, but he could not prove this. It was noted that the window had been shattered and that there was a large handprint on it. The ex-girlfriend could not be contacted at the time. The reporting officer was Bryan Shearouse.

A man stated that he was entertaining guests when a woman got into an argument with his roommate. The roommate then left the residence to keep the situation under control. The woman confirmed this series of events and agreed to settle the issue with the man. The reporting officer was Bryan Shearouse.

A man stated that he and his sister got into a fight over the sister’s broken faucet. The sister confirmed this story and added that she felt threatened by the man. Both parties agreed to avoid each other for the time being. The reporting officer was Matthew Davis.


Theft by Taking- Misdemeanor ($500 or Less)

A man stated that his son’s bicycle had been stolen along with the bike of a friend while the two were fishing. Neither party were sure of who had stolen the bike. The reporting officer was Christopher Cary.

Possession of Marijuana Less than One Ounce; Possession of a Schedule III Controlled Substance; Drugs not in Original Container-Misdemeanor; DUI-Driving Under the Influence of Drugs; Failure to Maintain Lane

A woman who had crashed on the side of the road was found to be in possession of marijuana. She was swiftly arrested after it was discovered that she was under the influence as well. The reporting officer was Jason Bragg.

Failure to Obey Stop Sign; Driving While License Suspended or Revoked (Misdemeanor)

A woman was seen failing to come to a complete stop when approaching a stop sign. She soon admitted to smoking marijuana and driving with a suspended license, and she was placed under arrest. Her father arrived on the scene to pick up her vehicle. The reporting officer was Kristopher Withem.
