Sixty years ago on the 10th day of July 1954, Bruce Rodger Savage and Ranzie Geneva Shores were married in Nashville, Tenn. Their children and families are proud to announce their anniversary.

Ranzie, the daughter of Ike and Catherine Shores, graduated from Hume-Fogg High School in Nashville. She is a homemaker and retired as secretary for the chaplain’s office from Days Inn Corporation in Atlanta.

Bruce, the youngest son of E. Stuart and Georgia Savage, also graduated for Hume-Fogg High School, where he and Ranzie were high school sweethearts. He joined the Navy and served as an aviation electronics technician during the Korean War, receiving an honorable discharge as a petty officer first class.

After the Navy, he graduated from Vanderbilt University with a degree in electrical engineering. He retired from Electromagnetic Sciences, Inc., in Atlanta as a vice president.

The Savages have lived in Clearwater and Gainesville, Fla., Tucker  and most recently in Rincon for the last 17 years. They have been members of the Rincon United Methodist Church since relocating there.

They have been blessed with two children, Deborah and Diane. Deborah is married to David Morrison and is a plant manager for PerkinElmer. They split their time between Greenwood, S.C., and Saint Simons Island. Diane is married to Thomas Pedigo and is a pediatrician with Pediatric Associates of Savannah. They reside in Savannah. The Savages have two grandchildren, Bailie and Jarrod Pedigo.

Bruce and Ranzie feel blessed to celebrate their anniversary at home with family in Rincon. Their daughters and families feel even more blessed to have had them as parents with their constant love and support.
