Effingham Chamber of Commerce cuts ribbon on Largesse Boutique

POSTED: July 11, 2017 3:45 p.m.

With the Effingham County Chamber of Commerce on hand Friday, Largesse Boutique officially held a ribbon-cutting ceremony to open their doors to the public.

While curious shoppers popped in and browsed the store, there were cupcakes, cookies and other treats for shoppers to enjoy as part of the Grand Opening.

With dresses, t-shirts, shoes and more currently on sale, Largesse Boutique is sure to fill the needs of anyone looking for something for themself or a gift for another.

Tracy Ray, owner of Largesse Boutique, got the idea for the store two years ago but admitted that the idea of opening and operating a store had first entered her mind over a decade ago.

“I just had this vision to be here for the community - it was actually birthed in me about 11 years ago,” Ray said. “I wanted to open a store but I didn’t know exactly how I wanted it to come together.”

Ray continued and explained that with the help of her husband, the two set off to begin building the foundation of the business.

“My husband and I started talking and we just wanted to be supportive to the community,” Ray said. “We want to be like a funnel so that a certain portion of our sales are going to go to local charities and global charities. If there is a family in need here, like Zack Norton, then we would donate proceeds of our sales to something like that.”

Along with donating a portion of their profits to charity, the boutique also offers customers a chance to make contributions to a Prayer Wall.

“If people come in and there is anything on their mind and they need us to pray with them, we want to be in agreement with that,” Ray said.

While the store isn’t quite full with inventory just yet, there is a lot more on the way.

“A lot more women’s clothes and a lot more fall stuff,” Ray said on what will be arriving soon to the store. “We’ll also sell farm tables, a little bit of furniture, signs, vintage stuff and bath bombs. We may also branch out and do t-shirts for kids.”

Largesse Boutique is located at 167 Commercial Drive in Rincon.
