Singapore was recently listed as the most expensive city in the world to live in. The accompanying infographic shows the rest of the top 10 with some sample expenditures.

It shouldn’t be a surprise that a list of household size per country, taken from census data from organizations like the World Bank and Eurostat, shows each of the cities' corresponding countries has below 2.5 people per household, with the exceptions of Singapore and Venezuela.

India, home to Mumbai, boasts 4.13 people per household. With family sizes decreasing in our society in general, how much influence does cost of living have and is there any hope for a reversal in the future?
