The South Effingham High School Media Center held its second annual “Michael Jackson Tribute and Trivia Week” during the first week of September.

The week-long event featured staff dressed in Michael Jackson costumes, the playing of hit songs by the artist, “white glove” decorating, a daily trivia question about the singer’s life for students to answer, celebrity biography books and magazines for check-out, and a drawing for prizes at the week’s end. High school students and Pre-K students participated.

Winners from the daily trivia questions were:  Monday-senior Jenny Spikes, Tuesday-senior Josey Jimenez, Wednesday-freshman Haleigh Helmly, Thursday-junior Aliyah Owens and Friday-sophomore Anthony Baxter. A bonus prize went to senior  D.J. Carter. Prizes included Michael Jackson T-shirts and CDs of the singer’s music.

The event was a great way to introduce students to the wide variety of resources in the media center.
