Jaret King, son of Georgia Power employee Dinah King at the company’s Springfield office, is one of 21 students to receive a Georgia Power scholarship.

King attends the University of Florida, where he majors in environmental engineering.

The Georgia Power Scholarship Program was created by former Georgia Power and Southern Company President and CEO Bill Dahlberg and has provided scholarships for Georgia Power employees for more than 25 years.  This year, 21 individual scholarships worth $2,500 each were awarded.

The 2014 scholarship recipients were selected from nearly 170 applicants and were awarded based on academic achievement, leadership, character, integrity and school and community activities.
